Women's 10K Glasgow TRANSPORT INFORMATION
Walk
The event starts at Riverside Museum. Your Event Information Pack will give you a map of the area so you can work out the walking options available to you from where you are travelling from.
Event Bus (Participants)
A dedicated Women’s 10K Glasgow Event Bus service will operate throughout the event for both runners and spectators.
The service will run between:
- Cathedral Street (City Centre bus stop) – What3words ///suffice.alert.claps

Tickets can be purchased in advance via the shop. A limited number of tickets may be available on the day, however these will be significantly more expensive.
We strongly recommend taking the earliest bus possible to avoid queues and reduce waiting times.

2026 W10K GLA - Pre Event - Participant ticket (Cathedral Street)
Route: An event bus service will operate between Cathedral Street (Behind Queen Street Station) and Riverside Museum (the Start). This ticket can be used if you are planning to use public transport and want to travel to the start area.Departure time: This service will leave Cathedral Street at 09:30. Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes ahead of your departure time. Journey time approximately 20 minutes.
Please note: bus tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
2026 W10K GLA - Pre Event - Participant ticket (Shields Rd Park & Ride)
Route: An event bus service will operate between Shields park & ride and Riverside Museum (the Start). This ticket can be used if you are planning to park in Glasgow and want to travel to the start area.Shields park & ride to Riverside Museum
Departure Time: Departure at 09:30 sharp from Shields park & ride

We will make every effort to get spectators to the finish before the first runners arrive, however this cannot be guaranteed due to potential traffic disruption on the day.

2026 W10K GLA - 2 Journeys - Spectator Ticket
You can use this ticket for one of the two options below:Option 1: City Centre Spectators
This option is for spectators based near the city centre who wish to travel to the start at Riverside Museum and then continue on to the finish at Glasgow Green.

Riverside Museum (Start) → Glasgow Green (Finish Area)
Departure time
This service will depart from Cathedral Street at 09:30.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure.

Option 2: Park & Ride Spectators
This option is for spectators using the Shields Park & Ride who wish to travel to the start and then continue to the finish.

Public Bus
The SPT service starts after 10:00 on Sundays and is a good option to get you to the start line at the Riverside Museum from George Square. Check out the SPT Bus timetable here: http://www.spt.co.uk/bus/timetables.
First Group operate many buses that service Ingram Street which is a few minutes walk from the finish at George Square. Find out more: http://www.firstgroup.com/greater-glasgow. McGill’s buses 901, 906, 907 and X7 also run to Buchanan Street Bus Station. Find out more: http://www.mcgillsbuses.co.uk/default.aspx.
Train
Partick Train Station is less than half a mile from Riverside Museum (Start).
Glasgow Queen Street Station is a very short distance from George Square (Finish).
Subway
*NB the subway runs from 10:00 – 18:12 on Sundays. Given the subway service starts at 10am on Sundays, this will most likely NOT be a suitable mode of transport to get you to the start line at the Riverside Museum in time.
The closest subway station to the finish area in George Square is Buchanan Street SPT Subway Station. From here, you can travel to Partick SPT Subway Station, which is less than half a mile from Riverside Museum (suitable if you need to get back to the start post-event). Alternatively, Kelvinhall SPT Subway Station is just over half a mile from Riverside Museum (suitable if need to get back to the start post-event). Find out more: http://www.spt.co.uk/subway.
Car
Car parking is available at Riverside Museum (Start) for runners and spectators. From the M8 motorway, take Junction 19 and travel west bound along the Clydeside Expressway (A814) for about one mile to Pointhouse road. Then turn left into the Riverside Car Park area. Please note that it is a Pay & Display car park. There is also a Pay & Display car park at Kelvin Hall, Bunhouse Road that’s only a 15 minute signposted walk to Riverside. Please park with consideration to local residents, ensuring that you do not block driveways or cause congestion.

Low Emissions Zone (LEZ) information
For Lancefield Quay, Warroch St, Hydepark St, Lancefield St, Elliot St areas.
As a local resident you are probably aware that Glasgow City Councils LEZ came into force on the 1 June 2023. Details of which can be found on the council website at https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/LEZ As described in this letter, the Men’s 10K and the Women’s 10K will close roads for the safety of the event participants and other road users. In agreement with the council the same diversions from previous years will be implemented. To facilitate this, the LEZ cameras at Argyle St and Broomielaw will be switched off to allow you to use Argyle St, James Watt St, Broomielaw, Anderston Quay and into Hydepark St to maintain local access. To leave the area it will be Hydepark St, Anderston Quay, North Street. Please note that only the mentioned route will allow non-compliant vehicles to enter and leave the LEZ zone. Any other route used might result in a LEZ fine.
Special arrangements
Access to SEC & Hydro Car Park
The best way to access the SEC & Hydro Car Park is via the M8 exit 19. You can also access the car park by travelling east along Stobcross Road. Please note that Broomielaw Road will be closed on the westbound carriageway at Anderston Quay from 06:00–11:00. Exit available via Finnieston Street.
Access across the Clyde Arc will be possible until 09:00am and then closed for the runners passing. Please ensure that you travel before this time or select an alternative route. It will reopen as soon as the final runners have passed at around 12:00pm.
Taxi’s will be permitted access to drop off at the venue via the north loop of Congress Road. Please allow extra time for your journey on the morning of the event. All roads will reopen by 14:00 at the latest.
Taxi and Drop Off point for pedestrians looking to access the Crowne Plaza or the SEC
This will be available via Congress Road. Drop off is available here all day. Once pedestrians are dropped off there will be a crossing point to provide walking access to the Crowne Plaza and SEC.
Marshalled access is available for vehicles to use a crossing point from the Car Park at Congress Road to gain direct access to and from the Crowne Plaza. No access will be given between 09:00AM and 11:45AM as runners will be in this area. Please plan your departure from this area in consideration of these times when vehicle movement will be prohibited.
Access to St Enoch Centre
The St Enoch Centre is open from 10am and can be accessed via Victoria Bridge and Glasgow Bridge to exit.
